This site was investigated in 1964 by Peter Danaher. The trackway consisted of single planks laid end to end. Some local workers said the planks were joined together with pegs. As there was a lot of newly cut turf footed on the banks when we investigated the site, it was not possible to verify this. The planks were 3.25m long, .4m wide and .19m high. They were lying on turf about 1m over the bottom of the bog and .37m under present level of cut-away bog. The trackway extends in a NE-SW direction towards two disused burial grounds in Killarida townland. More planks belonging to this roadway were discovered in 1971 by Mr Donovan Hadley of Listowel, one of which was a split tree trunk about 4.5m long.
