What is recorded here

Internal diameter 30m N-S, 31.4m E-W Situated one field WNW of 'Lismoyle' (KE009-048----) on low-lying pastureland, this univallate cahir consists of a sub-circular area enclosed by a well-defined bank which is stone lined. This has been covered over by growth and is only visible in places. The enclosing bank rises to a maximum height of 3.2m above the external ground level and 2.2m above the interior. Access to the interior is provided by two openings, one to the NW and one to the SE, measuring 2.4m and 5m respectively. The original entrance may be the opening to the SE which appears to be stone lined. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 802. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
