What is recorded here

‘Very little is known about this holy well, except that St Colum is said to have visited this Holy place where Mass was said during penal times and to have said Mass there. Local people once paid rounds there.' (Joseph Moriarty, 1985) The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 895. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 3 August 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
