Internal diameter 35m N-S, 32.4m E-W This univallate rath consists of a sub-circular area enclosed by a well-defined earthen bank and exterior fosse. The enclosing bank is on average 6m wide and measures 1.6m high above the fosse and 1m above the interior. The fosse is U shaped and shallow and is 2m wide and .6m below the height of the surrounding land. Three main gaps appear in the bank to the N, W and SE, measuring 2.4m, 1.6m and 1.8m respectively. The interior, which is at a slightly higher level than the surrounding land, contains three mounds, roughly oblong, measuring internally 4.4m x 3.4m, 6m x 3m and 4.2m x 2m. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 334. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 2 August 2013
