Situated NE of the Galey river. 'The 8th century Genealogy of the Ciarraige refers to Mag nAirthir (Murher) in North Kerry, in the lands of the Ciarraige Luachra, as a church site which was founded by Bishop Fáelán of the local ruling dynasty.' Hurley (1982, 329). The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 832.
