What is recorded here

A mound of dark-coloured, broken and brittle stones was found here when the Fitzells were building their new residence. The mound was levelled and the area now lies under the lawn in front of the house.' (Holly, 1981) The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 40. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 1 August 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
