Internal diameter 33m N-S, 33m E-W Lissard/Lios Ard (high ringfort). This possible bivallate rath is situated SW of the main Faha concentration of ringforts. It consists of a subcircular area surrounded by a bank, fosse and outer bank. The outer bank is only traceable for 27m N-W. It measures .8m externally and .9m above the fosse. The fosse is observable at most sections of the site, though in various degrees of preservation. It is best preserved to the NW where it is round bottomed and measures c3m in width. The inner bank measures 1.6m above the fosse and .5m above the interior. Two gaps are to be noticed, one, a modern addition to the N, is 7m wide; another SSW is 6m wide. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 127. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 2 August 2013
