In 1953, a landowner in ‘Carrigeen, Baltinglass’ reported to the National Museum of Ireland, ‘In recent excavations on my farm I have discovered a walled in chamber which may be of historic interest’ (NMI IA/244/53). The location of the possible souterrain is unknown.
