In 1978, the NMI, excavated and collected the remains of four individuals (two adult males, one female and one of undetermined sex) from a shallow pit (dims. L 2.52m NW-SE; Wth 0.8m; D 0.28m) underneath a recently cleared field boundary. Two samples were subsequently radiocarbon-dated to between the 11th and 14th-century. It was suggested that the burials might be part of a larger cemetery. (Cahill and Sikora 2011, Vol 2, 49-51)
