In a levelled, possible moated site (KD035-005----), in level tillage. Darby (1899-1902, 191) records, 'The cave ran diagonally across it [the interior of the possible moated site] from the south-east corner. Only one end was … opened. This was composed of stonework, but was very much defaced and obliterated by searchers after crocks of gold.' He also records the local tradition that the monument was used as place of refuge by monks from Kilart nunnery (KD031-020001-) and Kilberry church (KD030-005----) and was known locally as 'The Coreally', possibly from the French 'couralé', underground fortification. No visible surface trace survives.
