A Down Survey map (1655-6) shows a castle and four houses at 'The Bart', in the vicinity of ‘Bert House’, and Noble and Keenan show a castle and a church (KD034-016----) in this area on their 1753 Map of County Kildare. Neither monument is recorded by the OS and their precise location is unknown.
