What is recorded here

Incorporated into the N corner of a later, 17th-century house. A barrel-vaulted rectangular structure (int. 8.7m NNE-SSE; 3.6m ESE-WNW) is built of rubble masonry (wall T. 1.2m) without a base batter. A square-headed doorway at the N end of the ESE sidewall, currently giving access to the later building, may be original, while a wider doorway in the WNW sidewall appears to be a later insertion. There are traces of a blocked loop in the WNW side wall and also in the NNE gable wall. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 12 November 2013
