Adjoining a graveyard (KD031-020002-) at the N end of a short low pasture ridge overlooking a broad expanse of bog immediately to the N. In 1837, O'Conor (Herity 2002, 70 [207]), who co-compiled the OSL for County Kildare, commented '… there was a Church called Killart, (of which) only the vestiges, as I am informed, now remain.' Darby (1899-1902, 191), describing a possible moated site (KD035-005----) c. one mile to the S, records the local tradition that that monument was used as a place of refuge by monks from Killart and Kilberry (KD030-005----). No visible surface trace of a church survives, but subsurface remains may survive in a low grass-covered rectangular mound (base L 10m NW-SE; Wth 6.9m; surface L 8m NW-SE; Wth 4.5m; H 0.6m over N, E and S; 1.6m over adjoining graveyard to SW) which occupies the site.
