What is recorded here

Near the S bank of the River Liffey, and the site of ‘New Abbey’ (KD028-040----). A large roughly rectangular area (c. 100m E-W; c. 90m N-S) is enclosed by a roughly coursed stone wall (H c. 1.5m) facing an earthen bank, with gates towards the N end of the W side. A gravel path skirts the interior, with the burial area on slightly higher ground inside. Most gravestones date from 19th and 20th-century, with modern burials to the E. The graveyard contains an effigial tomb (KD028-040002-), while portion of a wall (3m E-W; H 1m) in the NW sector is the remains of a 19th-century church.
