On an E-facing slope in improved pasture. In 1839, according to the OSL (Herity 2002, 196 [273]), 'A burial ground not now in use lies within the townland … .' It is annotated 'Site of Grave Yard' on the 1st ed. (1838) of the OS 6-inch map immediately W of a rectangular area (est. dims. c.35m WNW-ESE; C. 28m NNE-SSW shown defined by a hedged field boundary, but open to the ESE where a large farm house is depicted. Various low earthworks here conform to the remains of the now levelled house, farm buildings and field boundaries, and there is no visible surface trace of the graveyard. However, a crude granite cross (KD025-009001-) lying beside the site may be Early Christian in date. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 24 July 2012
