What is recorded here

A whitethorn bush known as the Mullacash mass-bush (KD024-068----) marks the site of a penal mass station which stands inside a natural hollow creating an amphitheatre like setting. The mass bush and hollow are clearly visible on Digital Globe aerial photographs. According to local tradition the mass bush marks the site of a children's burial ground (Gibson 1990, 62). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien based on details provided by William Gibson Date of upload: 23 April 2019

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
