In an enclosure (KD024-001001-) and visible as the foundations of a rectangular structure (SMR file). Cropmark of circular-shaped enclosure (KD024-001001-) or bawn visible in aerial photographs, no visible remains of castle building (Digital Globe). In 1837 according to the OSL (Herity 2002, 59 (173)), ‘In Rathascar T.L. are the ruins of a castle standing in the centre of a Fort or Mound’ [KD024-001001-]. Both monuments were levelled in 1984, but subsurface remains may survive.
