What is recorded here

According to Bradley et al. (1986 vol. 4, 351-2), a slated house called the Rose and Crown is mentioned in the Civil Survey (1654), and Costello's suggestion (Leinster Leader, 2 November 1985) is quoted; that it stood opposite the present Town Hall, on the E side of North Main Street, where No. 25 has a stone built N wall with a rounded corner projecting towards the street. It's also suggested that this may have been Wheatley's Castle (KD019-030017-). Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
