Near the top of a short, moderately steep, SE-facing slope in improved pasture. The foundation walls of a rectangular bawn (dims. L c. 50m; Wth c. 25m) containing the foundation walls of a building were noted in 1940 (SMR File). While no surface traces of these features survive, the remains of a gateway still stand at the SW corner. This is a round-arched, rectangular masonry structure (Wth 2.57m; H 3.46m) with bolt/hinge sockets on each side, inside the outer ashlar jambs. There is an internal flat arch, which is pierced by a small hole (dims. L 0.3m; Wth 0.2m), possibly a murder hole, on the underside of which wicker centring is visible. A very short length (L 0.73m) of the W wall of the bawn extends N from the gateway. The monument is leaning uphill, c. 10 degrees away from the vertical.
