In 1424, King Henry the 6th rewarded William Fitz John Bermingham for his services to the crown during the wars.… by granting him four messuages (or farmsteads) and 128 acres of land 'in Reynoldstown, alias Poyne's Castell, near the castle of Carbury (KD008-001002-), in the County Kildare' (Fitzgerald 1906-8, 65). 'Poyne's Castell' has not been located.
