What is recorded here

St. Mary's Church incorporates parts of an earlier, manorial church, including the E tower, associated with Maynooth castle (KD005-015----). The E wall of the tower has four late medieval windows, while the N wall has a series of slit opes. The top portion with crenelations is modern. The tower has a basal batter. At the W side of the tower there are two round-headed opes (both blocked), probably doorways from an upper storey in the original church. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
