According to the OSL (Herity 2002, 33), the site was 'a burial place for still-born infants', a belief still held locally. In level pastureland. A triangular area, with apex to S, (max. dims. L 37m N-S ; Wth 22m along N) is defined by a low scarp (H 0.5-1m) skirted by later field boundaries along N and E. The interior appears to have been disturbed when overgrowth was cleared, and there are no visible burial markers.
