What is recorded here

In pastureland on the N shoulder of a low hill. This well-preserved roughly D-shaped children's burial ground (18m E-W; 14.5m N-S) is unenclosed apart from an ENE-WSW running field boundary which forms its N limits. Numerous small set stones, marking graves, run in roughly N-S rows. There is also a large quantity of loose stones. One large inscribed slab (H 1.09m; Wth 0.51m) is dedicated to two infants of the Peirse family who died 1806 and 1807. According to local information, the burial ground was in use up to c. 1962.
