What is recorded here

On a S-facing slope in grassland. This children's burial ground is defined by an unenclosed rectangular area (L 15m; Wth 9m) within which a number of unworked limestone uprights indicated graves aligned E-W. According to the landowner, the last child was buried there in the 1920s and a penal priest is also reputedly buried there. A holy well (GA128-032001-) lies c. 14m to the SSE and there is a bullaun stone (GA128-031----) c. 180m to the WNW. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 29 August 2019
