This recumbent graveslab (L 1.98m; max. Wth 0.76; base Wth 0.71; T 0.13m) is on the floor in the chancel of the friary church (GA127-019----), adjacent to the W wall. It bears a framed stepped Latin cross in false relief. The head and arms consist of a central lozenge which end in fleur-de-lis motifs. A triskele is visible in that on the right arm. There is also a small decorated roundel in the centre of the lozenge. The IHS monogram is visible above the head of the cross and a small cross rises from the cross-bar of the letter H. The base and shaft are plain. An inscription beneath the base is in Latin. Within the frame around the sides and base of the slab another inscription indicates that this is a memorial slab to the Madden family dating to 1648. (Bradley and Dunne 1992, 163)
