What is recorded here

Fahey (1893, 139) recorded a cross at 'the village of Cranna', which was similar to one (see GA128-084----) in the 'village of Tarmon'. He described the latter cross as 'a rude stone cross', which 'stood until recently'; it marked the S limit of the church lands of Kilmacduagh. On inspection neither of the crosses were located. Possibly termon crosses. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 17 February 2023 Fahey, J.A. 1893 (Reprint 1986) The history and antiquities of the diocese of Kilmacduagh. Galway. Kenny Gallery.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
