What is recorded here

This well-defined grass-covered mound came to light during the course of fieldwork on the AranLIFE Farming Project (2014-2018) (see www.aranlife.ie). It is located in the angle of a field wall in an area of level rough grassland. The mound (11.7m E-W; 4.5m N-S; H 1.3-1.7m) is made up of earth and stone and it may have extended a further 3-4m further to the SW where slight traces of it are evident on either side of the NW-SE running field wall. A slight curve in the wall at this point may reflect this. A number of set limestone slabs protruding from it at SW may be outer wall-facing. Another mound (GA120-038----) lies c. 45m to the NE.
