On a small rise just S of Baile an Mhothair, Inis Meáin. A pair of elongated grassy mounds composed of earth and stone. The S mound (E-W 15.8m, N-S 6.6m, H 1.2m) is slightly larger than the N mound (E-W 10.8m, N-S 7.4m, H 1.15m). Traces of a possible stone facing are visible between them. In 1933, they were described by Mac Domhnaill (Topgr. Files, NMI) as partly disturbed 'twin grave mounds'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
