At the foot of a small limestone bluff close to S shore of Cuan Cill Éinne, Inis Mór. Named 'Cromwellian Burial Ground' and indicated on OS 6-inch map as a circular area (D c. 20-25m) with a small roofed rectangular structure in W half of the interior. All that survives today is an arc (L c. 35m) of earthen bank (Wth 1.5m, H 0.25m), part of which has been destroyed by a sand pit. Nothing is visible in the interior. The graveyard probably dates from the mid-17th century when the nearby bastioned fort, Caisleán Aircín, (GA119-005002-), was built and occpupied.
