This altar (1.6m x 1.12m; H 0.9m) lies c. 1m to the N of St Eany’s holy well (GA119-006001-). It is constructed of undressed limestone blocks and was built against a natural limestone rock face immediately to the W. It is capped with two flagstones, one of which bears the deeply incised letters ‘IHS’. A small Latin cross with triangular terminals rises from the horizontal bar of the letter H.

This monument was taken into Ownership under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 1914 - National Monument 43.
