On a rise in pastureland, c. 200m to the ENE of Duniry village. Known locally as ‘Daire's Hill’. The OS Letters record that the name of the parish in Irish is ‘Dún Doighre’ and that the 'doon' which originally bore that name is on 'Knockadoon, Cnoc a dúin' (O’Flanagan 1927, Vol. 2, 490). It consists of a poorly preserved circular rath (diam. 40m) defined by a scarp (H 2.3m max.) which appears to fade into the natural hillslope from NW to NE. The W sector has been disturbed by quarrying. A church (GA116-076----) lies c. 250m to the SW.
