What is recorded here

In gently undulating pastureland. Marked on the OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 36m). On inspection in November 1982 no visible surface trace survived. According to local information, it had been 'removed' in the early 1950s. The OSi digitalglobe aerial imagery (Google maps) indicates that a house was subsequently built in the SW quadrant of the interior. Cartographic evidence suggests that this was a ringfort, possibly a cashel. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 15 April 2019
