What is recorded here

Gwynn and Hadcock (1970, 396) recorded that there was said to be 'the stump of a round tower' in the vicinity of St. Coman's medieval church (GA113-139----). However, a programme of archaeological works funded by the Heritage Council and undertaken over fours seasons (2004-2007) found no evidence of earlier occupation of the site (Carey 2008, 22-31). Not precisely located. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 9 April 2020

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
