What is recorded here

In an area of improved pastureland. This is one of five houses (see also GA113-054001- and GA113-054003- to GA113-054005-) that were recorded in the vicinity of the cashel (GA113-054----) in 1979 (SMR file). It was located c. 15m to the SE of it. All of the houses were of similar construction to the cashel and were built of double-faced drystone limestone blocks with a rubble core. However, this house differed slightly from the others which had rounded external corners and squared internal corners. The corners that survived on the S side of this house were squared externally. Not precisely located but a thorough search of the area to the SE of the cashel was made and no visible surface traces were noted. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 10 January 2017

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
