What is recorded here

On a gentle W-facing slope in scrub and rock outcrop. Very poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 35m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall, now reduced to a rubble spread. McCaffrey (1952, 264, no. 12) noted an entrance (Wth c. 2.1m) facing E ‘flanked by two large uprights’ and also a ‘souterrain’ (GA113-032002-) in the interior. No visible surface trace of these features survives; the interior is heavily overgrown. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
