In a slight, sheltered hollow on E outskirts of Cill Rónáin, Inis Mór. An almost square drystone building or enclosure (E-W; L 4m, Wth 3.7m) with a narrow entrance in N wall and a modern altar (GA111-013002-) and plaque (GA111-013003-) against E. The N, and parts of S, wall have been rebuilt. The name 'Aharla' suggests a burial ground but there is no evidence of one. Also known locally as Leaba Rónáin and Teaghlach Rónáin, suggesting that it may lie on or close to this saint's E. Chr. monastery of which nothing is known. A holy well (GA111-012----) lay c. 45m to W. (O'Flanagan 1927a, Vol. 3, 384; Robinson 1980; Westropp 1895, 266)
