On S side of road, beside the present school, in Fearann an Choirce, Inis Mór. Dilapidated square drystone pier (L/Wth 1.2m, H 1.75m), originally surmounted by a cross, now displaced. Its N face contains two plaques commemorating 'Anne Dirrane', dated 1846. There is a group of wayside cairns (GA110-045----) directly opposite, on N side of road. (Robinson 1980)
