What is recorded here

Some 80m to the NE of another possible rath (GA107-103----). Marked on the 1945 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a roughly D-shaped enclosure (c. 27m E-W) with straight W side (L c. 40m). According to local information, it was known as a ‘fort’ and was defined by a bank and fosse, and possibly an outer bank. A stone wall surrounded the monument but that was removed to build an outhouse to the N. The monument was subsequently levelled in the 1960s during land reclamation. All that survives is a low irregular mound. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 2 April 2019

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
