According to McCaffrey (1952, 256, no. 6), a heap of earth and stones in the centre of the interior of the rath (GA105-057----) may have marked 'the spoil of a ravished souterrain’, as local people spoke of a ‘souterrain’ in the interior. This material is now visible as a grass-covered mound.
