What is recorded here

On a rise in tillage. This circular ring-barrow (diam. 24m overall) is defined by an earthen bank, which is overlain by a modern field wall from NNE through E to SSW, and a central mound (diam. c. 6m). McCaffrey (1952, 221, no. 83a) noted the presence of an entrance at SW. He also noted ‘an internal bank and two ditches … in the interior’. None of the above features were visible at the time of the site visit. The interior is now used as a rubbish dump. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 18 February 2019
