What is recorded here

Located on a poorly preserved and overgrown altar (GA103-127----), this cross-inscribed rectangular slab (H 0.6m; Wth 0.9m; T 0.12m) is dated 1716. The Latin cross stands on a stepped Calvary base and the arms bear the monogram INRI. The following inscription is beneath the cross: 'PRAY IN/ HONOUR/ OF GOD/ AND THE/ SAINT/ 1716'. According to Bradley and Dunne (1992, 134), the slab was set into a socketed base. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 20 February 2020
