What is recorded here

On a slight rise in undulating pastureland. Subcircular rath (30m E-W), in fair condition, defined by a bank of earth and stone and an external fosse; the latter only survives from NW to N. Traces of stone-facing are evident along the inner face of the bank at NE. Field walls overlie the enclosing element from through S to NW. There is a souterrain (GA103-020001-) in the N sector of the interior. (McCaffrey 1952, 179, no. 85) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 4 January 2017
