What is recorded here

On Tawin Island, in low-lying commonage close to the foreshore and c. 235m to the SE of Kilcolgan Point. This poorly preserved subrectangular enclosure (19.5m E-W; 13m N-S) came to light following aerial reconnaissance by Markus Casey in August 1999 (SMR file). It is defined by a bank of earth and stone. A small gap (Wth 1m) is evident at NE. Low banks of earth and stone extending outwards from each corner are part of an associated field system (GA102-040003-). (Holt 1912, 227) Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 10 July 2019
