What is recorded here

In level pastureland. This poorly preserved overgrown circular ring-barrow (diam. 22.6m), which is partly obscured by furze and hawthorn growth, comprises a flat-topped raised area (diam. 10.8m; max. H 0.2m) surrounded by a fosse, with slight traces of an external bank from SW to W. On inspection in February 1985 an old field bank abutted it at SE and at N a narrow drain ran N for 7m. Current aerial imagery (Google 2019) indicates that the field boundary has since been removed. A bowl-barrow (GA100-103001-) lies c. 30m to the SE. de Valera and Ó Nualláin (1972, 29) noted a possible third one (GA100-103002-) c. 25m to the SSW.
