What is recorded here

Within a ringfort (GA100-032----). The 'caltragh' element of the ringfort's site name, 'Caltraghgarraun Fort', suggests the presence of a CBG. All that is visible are two low grass-covered mounds of stone and a few larger limestone boulders which may possibly indicate its location. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
