What is recorded here

In undulating grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular ringfort (NW-SE 44m) defined by a scarp from E through S to NW; elsewhere field clearance has destroyed the enclosing element. A field wall cuts the monument at NW and SE along which the td. and B. boundaries run. A CBG (GA100-032001-) is located within the interior. The find spot of the early Iron Age Somerset hoard lies c. 65m to SE of this monument (Raftery 1960, 1-40). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
