What is recorded here

On a gentle S-facing slope in pastureland. This roughly subcircular cashel (int. dims. c. 45m E-W; c. 40m N-S), in fair condition, is defined by a drystone wall (Wth at E 6.6m; int. H 1.1m). The gap (Wth 10m) noted by Cody (1989, 265-6, no. 89) at NE is now blocked up. Field-clearance rubble has been piled against the S half of the external wall-face. This rubble (Wth 4m) has been built up to the height of the cashel wall and faced to form a modern field wall. Other modern field walls abut the cashel at several points. The interior is planted with trees and a sheepfold is incorporated into the enclosing wall at E. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 27 February 2018
