What is recorded here

On a gentle S-facing slope in pastureland to the W of the Athenry-Limerick railway line. This partially overgrown subrectangular children's burial ground (L 18.15m; Wth 15m) is defined by a drystone field wall along the S, W and N sides and by the railway boundary wall on the E side. Numerous recumbent grave-markers are visible but in the SW sector an number of small upright set examples survive. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 29 August 2019
