What is recorded here

In scrubland and rock outcrop. Redington (1916, 53) recorded a cashel, ‘Caherdiveane’, and noted that while no traces of the ‘caher’ survived, a ‘semi-circular single wall, which may occupy its site, partly surrounds the mouth of a souterrain (GA096-042001-). Not located. (McCaffrey 1952, 153) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 22 July 2019

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
