Redington (1916, 53-4) refers to a souterrain within the cashel (GA096-022----) that was 'said to be of three rooms' and had been filled in. McCaffrey (1952, 150, no. 74) could find no trace of it. The landowner indicated that he had blocked up a souterrain in the N half of the monument.
